From amongst the vast world of interlinking stories and characters who have populated my time traveling mind for (in some cases) well over a decade, at last some tiny fragments are breaking through into the real world.
Inspired by things which have always interested and fascinate me - from Renaissance art via well loved children's stories to the varied quirks of natural history - my tales are just beginning to break from cover, giving fleeting glances of a world in which the scientifically improbable is made possible by the seemingly miraculous.
Though the events I explore are experienced by the level-headed and empirically minded, there is a deeper magic rippling through the fabric of my vast and (hopefully) realistic world - and perhaps a distant call for them (and us) to long for something deeper.
At any rate, the fragmentary tales which pick up the intertwining stories of curatorial assistant Polly Nightingale and time traveller Ravenna Friere (a young lady who first flitted through my mind when I was writing the Gold Faction fifteen years ago as a mercurial character in a Roman heist story) give glimpses of a deeper realm and provide both a great vehicle for writing about fanciful stuff which fascinates me and allows me to fulfill my concept of creating an almost Strand Magazine-like format of short installments - a television series in novella form.
So 'stay tuned' as they say, and look out for 'Unconfirmed Sighting' the next installment of several short tales in which Dr Eve Wells' unfortunate gift for understanding the prehistoric past will once more drag her into thought provoking danger as Ravenna Friere's consultant!
